The Guest Vitals!

Your Host and Co-host truly complement each other’s personalities and style, on and off the air! Patrick is a 20+ year truck driver with a passion for being an entrepreneur. Janet grew up in the trucking industry, her father and grandfathers’ all drove. She also drove for nearly a decade over the road. Her passion for entrepreneurship is similar yet different than Patrick’s. That is why it works so well for them. The one main thing that drives them both however is the desire to see him step down from the big rig and retire to the home office this year. Those headphones look good on him after all.
They both love helping people learn new things and talking (a true-blue trucker quality) to just about anybody about anything. When you mix talking, making money, making new memories, reminiscing about old ones’; helping other people lift themselves up by learning new ways to get the most out of life oh and of course laughter, that is what these two are all about.

18WT 008:  Patrick & Janet talk about Life in the U.S. and how warped the news makes it appear. Even worse than it really is. They discussed Presidential elections and how the Purge is coming, laughing all the way. Do all movies come true? If so, who gets to be Will Smith in Independence Day?  Janet’s Father recently passed away and he taught her many things. Among other things was how to defend herself, and those she loved.  Patrick and Janet have that in common. They passionately believe in protecting their family.  “Chatting with Momma Janet” is where you can find the blogpost is based on, this Incredible Episode 8, the first Video Chat! No makeup, messy hair, and all. The usual shenanigans are found in everything from naked faces to no hair or pink hair, “Uncle Dopey”.

Mind blowing events, Covid-19, thousands ill and dying, daily. When “the Covid” first came out in China, people didn’t think it would come to their town. Yet here it is America, Cities, towns, everywhere, as it grew, the name changed from coronavirus to covid-19. Then the masks, from nylons to gas masks, scarves to n-95’s there are so many options. Yet so many people choose not to wear one, thinking that they cannot breath or it is a hoax. Patrick believes it was released and got out of hand; others say it does not even exist. Tell that to the people on the front line, like CNA’s, truckers that deliver and pick up, janitors, maintenance, nurses, & doctors.  So, people didn’t believe, businesses opened, people went out more, socialized. Crime went up, people quit being one race against the virus and became a me vs. you thing. Attitudes went down on both sides of the law, bad cops, criminals etc. It was now color, money, society. If you were rich and white and in the right neighborhood, your survival rate went up. The rest of us, our survival rates went down.  And life went on and life continued to stop for other horrible reasons, accidents, surgeries gone wrong, cancer, etc…

But systemic racism has been brought forward, like never in my lifetime. Peaceful protests have been blurred by rioters that claimed they were rioting for the same reasons. Racism is wrong and should never have happened at any point in time, but rioting is not the answer. Destroying Mom & Pop businesses is not the answer to all of this.  Defunding the Police, is it the answer? Retraining the police, is the answer in both of our opinions. There must be a middle ground. We saw someone arrested locally and he followed the Officer’s commands to put hands up, lie down, etc and was taken peacefully. The police were called for an armed and dangerous man. The man was not armed and while they did not rough him up, they did ask him if he had one and they cuffed and searched him. He had a big black cell phone that someone I guess thought was a gun.

Destroying monuments is also such a controversial discussion, even between these two! Rather than destroy them Janet believes they need put in a museum with an explanation of why it went up and why it came down. “We as a people are changing our future while learning from our history” could be written. Patrick is adamant that people are trying to wipe out history.  Both agree that Black people are unjustly punished as are other non-white people. However, both also believe that people need to stop throwing the past and slavery in the faces of people today. Janet has a friend, Olga that is a concentration camp survivor and she does not hold it against all Germans.  Patrick goes on to discuss how having Alopecia as a teenager during the age of the Neo-Nazi skinheads affected him. How he was judged for his appearance.  How people have friends now and don’t just say “this is my friend, so & so”; now it is always “this is my ___color friend”.  Neither of them were raised that way.

Next up, did Colin Kaepernick disrespect America and Veterans by kneeling during the National Anthem and the Flag being raised? He could have moved mountains if he had taken his platform in a different direction.  We seem to be Hell bent on destroying our Nation instead of Healing it. If people could just step back and look at people as neighbors and friends, it could happen. People should and could take better care of each other and heal what we have broken.  They then go on to discuss moving from an area where they were the majority, to moving to an area where they are now a minority. The discussion continues with how in the area they live in, their families and friends there is such diversity. There is multi-racial, multi-religion, and various sexual orientations. And none of these matters to either one of them, they love and enjoy the company of their family and friends, no matter race, religion, or sexual preference.

Religion, Politics and Slavery, three such very touchy subjects are very hot plate items.  They discuss how child labor laws changed and we learned from this. Yet here we are still arguing over what ended over 150 years ago.  In Phoenix there were two peaceful protests in the downtown area. But, both sides, arguing back and forth across the street from each other; so why did they both bring guns? The Phoenix PD managed to peacefully disburse the angry protests to their owns sides with no shots fired. Of course this brought on the discussion of Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam and who took their guns away, especially without taking the guns from the violent video games?

So, racism is such an unbelievable hatred to have in your soul is how they continue. Janet grew up in a small town in the Midwest. The current climate here in the U.S. has made her realize that some people she grew up with are on one hand Christian people and on the other hand totally racist. Those two cannot live in the same body. Neither of them understands how people hate.   They end with the desire for America to Unite and quit hating so that we can Rise from the current situation.

Like a Phoenix Rising from the ashes of a flame to rebuild a better place to live.
